"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

First Spring Harvest

There was a slight break in the rain today, so I decided to head out to the garden to check on things. Avery caught me on my way out the back door, and begged to go with me. And even though I told her that I didn't think anything was ready to be picked, she presented a solid argument to the contrary. What can I say, I get just as excited as she does about picking things out of our garden. After weighing our options carefully, we decided to pick 1 potato and some broccoli. It's not much, but it's our first spring harvest! Avery has already "claimed" the items, and told me that she would like to have them with her dinner tonight! :-)

So, did you have a potato/broccoli casserole?? :)

Ah, well there wasn't quite enough to make a casserole. :-) So, I steamed them, then added a little olive oil and garlic. And I am proud to say that Avery gave me and Hector each a bite. De-lish!
