Quote of the Month

"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Celebrating Christmas

Yesterday, we let the children open their gifts from us. It's always so amazing when you, as an adult, get to see the true joy and excitement in your children's eyes when they wake up and see presents under the Christmas tree. As a parent, I can't think of too many other moments that are truly so exciting! All of the pinching pennies to save up, and the hustle-n-bustle the few weeks leading up to Christmas, and the scrambling around from store to store to find the specific gifts the kids asked for, well, it's all worth it when you see them rip open the wrapping paper and with huge smiles on their faces scream "Thank you!". Hector and I were talking last night about how wonderful it is to be able to give gifts to our children, and how thankful we are for everything we have. We celebrate Christmas and give gifts to those we love because God set the perfect example by giving us the ultimate gift. Every year, we get to relive the true joy of Christmas, over and over again, with our children. It really is the most wonderful time of the year! Merry Christmas, everyone.
