"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

We're Back, Again!

Last week, we drove down to South Texas (Corpus Christi) and spent time with several of our friends and family members. We lounged on the beach and had a picnic lunch. The kids got sand everywhere in the car. We all got sunburned. It was great! We ate some awesome fresh trout that my dad caught. I think Avery ate 6 pieces of fish and Isaac ate 4. It was so good! We spent an entire day at the pool. We all got sunburned, again. It was great... again! Then we went to an awesome pizza place for lunch one day, and an even better bakery afterwards, and we stuffed ourselves silly with baked goodies for dessert. And then we went to Hector's 20th High School Reunion. We were able to see some friends we'd lost contact with over the years. We all sat around wondering why we'd let so much time pass by without us making a point to see each other. But the conversation was so wonderful, it was as if no time had passed at all. It was a great week, and we were so sad to leave. Here are several pictures for you to enjoy!

My sister, Rebekah, told me that if I could come up with a catchy caption for this next picture of her taken at the reunion, that I could post it on my blog. After much deliberation, I think I've come up with THE caption. Bonus points will be given to the person who can correctly identify the movie this comes from...

"Am I coming off too intense? Because I can be intensely laid back too":

We are truly enjoying our summer break, and simply can not believe there's only 5 more weeks until school starts again. This week, Samuel and Avery are attending Cooking Camp. I'll post updates on that later in the week.
