And now the babies have emerged even more! Last week they were only walking out from their nest onto the green area. The next 3 pictures were taken on Monday, when I noticed that they were starting to "hop" around, and they didn't look as clumsy with their walking.

They seem to have lost their soft downy grayish-brown feathers and now have their black feathers.

And as of today, they are sitting up on the green railing, and they are learning how to fly. I must tell you all, this was quite a sight to see! It literally brought tears to my eyes, watching the babies taking leaps of faith off the railing, and soaring through the air. It really was awe inspiring. This has been such an amazing experience for our family. From the first time I noticed the parents checking out the house as a potential nesting place, all the way to today, seeing the babies take flight.

"He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying." ~Friedrich Nietzsche
