"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Letters from the heart.

Dear Old, Tan Suburban,

We are writing to thank you for your dedicated years of service to our family. You've taken us on many road trips. You got us all the way to South Dakota and back last summer. And you've driven us to see our family members in South Texas more times than we can count. You've taken us to several doctor and dentist appointments. You got Patty to the hospital safely when she was in labor with Isaac, and you brought our baby boy home from the hospital afterwards. You also took Isaac to the hospital when he fell and busted up his mouth last Easter. You took both Samuel and Avery to their first day of Kindergarten. You've sat in many carpool lines. You've driven us to church, PTA meetings, choir practices, MOPS meetings, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts functions, camp outs, picnics, and countless other events. You have indeed served our family well. But you are falling apart, and your repairs will cost more than you are worth. And so, we feel the time has come for us to say goodbye to you, dear old, tan Suburban. We love you, but it is time to let you go so that you can hopefully serve another family. We will miss you. We are so sad to see you go. Take care.

Dear New, Shiny, Silver Suburban,

We've only had you for a day, but we can't remember why on earth we were so sad to see that old, tan Suburban go. You rock!
